Wasn't she just born?!

Two days shy of turning seven months old, my baby girl pulled herself up to a standing position! I was sitting on the couch (cutting coupons, of course) and Leah was sitting on the floor next to my feet. Next thing I know I saw her beautiful face smiling at me. She was so happy to be standing up and I was so happy that she stood up to get to me. Well, that's what I keep tellin' myself, hehe. Now she won't stop pulling herself up. The next stage will be walking.. I am not ready for it, but if she's anything like her brother she will be running around in about two more months. *sigh* Babies just grow up way.too.fast.

Enough already, right?

Okay, I am sure you guys are getting sick of me posting about grocery shopping and saving money. But.. I can't help it! It gives me such a high and I just HAVE to tell somebody!

I just came home from my weekly grocery shopping trip. Here's what I got.

(sorry for the bad picture)

I spent $31.19 and saved $58.35. I messed up by like a $2.. the jars of baby food were BuyOneGetOne free.. and I accidentally bought one of the wrong kind. So, I paid $.10 more for that jar and I didn't get one free. I noticed this while putting the kids in the car, but the time and effort it would have taken me to drag both kids back in the store wasn't worth the 2 bucks. Now, if I have to go back to Publix before the sale ends, I will definitely bring back the baby food so I can get another one for free ;) hehe.

The best deals I got today were the Febreeze Noticeables. They are orginally $6.99, but they were marked down to $3.50. I had a $5(!!!!) coupon for it, so I ended up getting $1.50 towards the rest of my groceries. I love it! The other good deal was the Gerber Rice Cereal.. those are usually $2.09, but they were marked down to $1.04, and I had a coupon for $1 off two. So one box was $.04!
*sigh* Some people get high off of drugs and what not. Me? I get high off of saving money at the grocery store, haha!

Wordless Wednesday - St. Louis Arch

When Brandon went up to Illinois this past weekend, he didn't realize how close he would be to the St. Louis Arch. One afternoon after the airshow, they went by to check it out. I had to post the pictures because I think my hubby did such a great job taking these photos! Beautiful, isn't it!?
For more "Wordless Wednesday" go here.

when it rains.. it pours

When one thing goes bad in this household.. I always expect ten more things to go wrong! So, when nothing else goes wrong, I am completely shocked and mighty thankful! Tonight was one of the nights where one thing led to another. *sigh*

Kyle took a nap in our bed, but I forgot to put a diaper on him (he only wears a diaper for naps and at night). So he ended up soaking our comforter (that I just washed yesterday), sheets and the bed.
Kyle sat like a big boy at the dining room table tonight. He ended up tipping the chair over and fell down.
I had given him a "regular" cup for his water. He ended up spilling his cup of water all over his dinner and the table.
And hopefully the last event for tonight.. Kyle was sitting in our bed watching a cartoon show, and started throwing up all over the bed. Of course, there was nothing protecting the bed since it was all still being washed from his nap!

Phew! Being a Mom is tough!!! But, I wouldn't trade it for any other job.

One super happy baby..

And one baby who had a rough day.

My Sister

My Niece asked my Sister to sing her the "i love you" song.. and this is what my sister, Marie started singing...

My Sister's version of "I love you, You love me" (from the cartoon Barney)

I love you,
You love me,
We're a happy family,
With a knick-knack patty-whack,
Give a dog a bone.
Won't you say you love me too.

You can imagine my facial expression when I heard her finish this song!!! We still laugh about it to this day.

Another funny story about my sister..

One day while visiting Los Angeles we decided to go site-seeing. Since we were tourists and all, we just HAD to buy the "Stars Homes" map. If you don't know what I'm talking about.. it's a map that has all the famous stars' house addresses in it! Too cool.. I know! Anyways, this thing is massive. So, here I am sitting in the backseat with this huge map opened up.. and I scream "George Clooney!!!!!!" My sister and John start panicking (can we say WHIPLASH?!) and yell "where!? where!?" .. ahahahahaha.. I guess I gave them the impression that I actually saw Mr. Clooney himself walking around. I was just so excited to spot his address on the map.. haha.

Seaside, Fl

A couple of weekends ago, we decided to head to Seaside, which happens to be the little town where the movie The Truman Show was filmed. It's a cute little town, but not a whole lot is there. But, now we can be cool and say "we've been to the community where The Truman Show was filmed". We had a hard time finding the house used in the movie. So, I went into a Reality Office and got a couple of maps.. and ta-dah.. I found it! The movie was filmed over 10yrs ago, so the area isn't quite as nice as it was in the movie. But the hubby and I like to go site-seeing, so it was fun!

ramblings

I was browsing around on E.L.F. and now I totally want more make-up and new brushes! I am a serious make-up junkie. I need help!!

I ended up getting an appointment for Leah yesterday afternoon. She's had a high fever since Monday and I was getting a bit worried since there was nothing else with this fever. No runny nose, no coughing, no tugging at the ears.. nothing! They put a catheter in to get a urine sample, so they could check for a UTI. My poor baby screamed and cried and it broke my heart. But, good news, she doesn't have a UTI. And there's nothing wrong with her. Her lungs/ears/mouth are all clear. So the doctor said it's probably just a virus that'll go away soon enough.

Since Leah has had this fever, she has been sleeping a lot throughout the day. So, last night, she didn't sleep at all!!! She sleeps in bed with us most of the time since I am too lazy to put her back in her crib. But she whined all night. Now I think she might be teething, which is probably why she has the fever.

The doorbell rings at 850am and I almost didn't hear it (no sleep last night=still asleep at 9am!). I forgot our landlord was coming today to replace our water heater. It's almost 1pm and they are still out there trying to figure out how to get it installed. No running water, so I still haven't gotten a shower yet. ***They just knocked on the door and my water heater is fixed now.. but no hot water until tonight!!!!!!!!!***

I had so many "little things" to write about, so I just combined it all. So here's a funny story I just had to share!

Yesterday Kyle got out of the shower and was wrapped up in his towel. I told him to come to me so that I could put his underwear on. He walks over to me, drops his towel, and yells "surprise!!!!". I about died laughing. After I calmed down, I nicely told him that showing himself was definitely not a surprise. He laughed and then said "sorry". Don't ask where he learned that, because I haven't got a clue!!!

and he's gone

I was going to post a picture of our lonely bed that only has one pillow on it.
Or a picture of our key holder that only has one set of keys hanging down.
Maybe even the empty bathroom counter with only my deodorant sitting there.
But then I remembered my hubby took the camera with him.

He left the house super early (before 5am) and he is on his way to an airshow right now. At least this time he is only gone for 4 days. I think I can handle that. I mean, Kyle is only going through a small phase of "terrible two's" and Leah is ONLY teething (we have decided she is definitely teething.. she woke up at midnight screaming.. and wouldn't eat or take her pacifier.. definitely teething!). I'll be okay. It'll be a long weekend though!

Wordless Wednesday- Our Trip to Chuck E. Cheese

For more "Wordless Wednesday" go here.

Using my time wisely

Kyle and Leah both took a nap today at the same time (hardly ever happens!!), so I made a list of things I wanted to get done while I had some uninterrupted time. Here's what I got done in an hour and a half.

~Loaded the dishwasher
~Scrubbed the sink clean
~Wiped down all the kitchen cabinets and stovetop
~Made our bed
~Started making the grocery list
~Baked some Choc. Chip Cookies
~Cleaned Kyle's room
~Folded and put away laundry

I had a few other things that I wanted to get done, but the babies woke up. Leah has had a high fever since early yesterday afternoon. She's not sick, so she might be teething. I really don't know, so I might be taking her in to the hospital tomorrow!

I'll leave you with a before and after picture of Kyle's room. It's not as clean as I would like, but it will do!

I love me some Target

I have always loved Target, so I'm not sure why I don't go there more often. I received a $50 GC from MyPoints, so that is why I even went to Target. ((BTW, if you want to sign up for MyPoints, send me your email address, and I will send you a referral email. I receive bonus points for referrals! Just had to put that out there!)) They always have awesome clearance sales (especially after holidays)!

Here's what I found on sale!

-Off! Spray, originally $4.54 each, marked down to $1.13 each. I had a $.75 coupon and a $.55 coupon, so I ended up paying $.38 and $.58 for two bottles of Off! Spray.

-Fructis Garnier Conditioner, with a free bonus conditioner. Orginally $2.54, used $1 coupon. Two bottles of condtioner for $.77 each.

-Biz laundry stain remover, orginally $6.99, marked down to $5.94. I had $2.50 coupons. Final price $3.44 each. I bought 3 bottles because, um, I have two kids, need I say more?

I think I will be stopping by Target a little more often now! Don't forget to browse the endcaps whenever you go to Target/Walmart/wherever! You never know what you'll find! :)

Gas

Thursday gas was $3.49 per gallon.
Friday, we could hardly find a gas station that still had any gas left!
We paid $3.69.
Walmart, who is supposed to be the cheapest place to fill up, had their prices at $3.75. A $.26 jump in one day!
I am scared to go out today and see what the gas prices are now, now that Hurricane Ike has hit.
Fox News said that gas prices could reach $6 a gallon in some areas!!

So, how much are YOU paying for gas??

The two kids who light up my life =)

love savin money!

I paid $3.17 for all that and I saved $14.37. I'm pretty proud! Exciting stuff, huh? haha.

lover of cars

Such a silly boy. If you look closely, you can see they are all facing the same direction, too. Kyle loves cars. This is probably not even 1/4 of his car collection.

where, oh, where!

You know what absolutely bugs me? When I have a coupon for a free item, and then I can't find that item anywhere!! This is the third time it's happened to me. I recently was sent a coupon for YoMommy yogurt. I've checked both my usual grocery stores AND our Supercenter Walmart, and they don't carry it. I was really looking forward to trying this YoMommy yogurt since it's supposed to be great for pregnant and nursing mothers. I'm hoping that since it's a fairly new product it'll be stocked soon. I hate to let this coupon go to waste!

Here I am

Okay, so I decided to finally do the blog thing myself. I usually blog on myspace, but Arlene pretty much forced me to move to blogger. So, here I am. I am super new to all this, so all the help I can get would be greatly appreciated.
